Donations needed to help cute canines this Christmas
Festive frolics are afoot at Dogs Trust Manchester as the team deck the halls in preparation for its annual Christmas Fair on Sunday 2 December.
With just a few weeks to go until the Denton-based rehoming centre hosts the much-loved festive event, staff are on the lookout for donations of chocolate and other sweet treats along with bottles for its treats tombola, gifts such as toiletries and trinkets for its traditional tombola and they are appealing for dog-loving bakers to make a cake or two for the ever popular café.
Louise Danson, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Manchester, said:
“On average it costs more than £40 a day to care for every dog we look after and the Christmas Fair is one of our main fundraising events of the year.
“Every penny raised makes sure we can give our dogs everything they need throughout the year, not just at Christmas, whilst they wait for their forever homes.”
At the event, which runs from 10am-4pm, visitors and their four-legged friends will be able to have their picture taken with Santa Paws, there will be gift and craft stalls as well as cake stalls, mulled wine and games. Also for the first time there will be a fun, indoor mini obstacle course for dogs and their owners to test their agility skills. Entry and parking are free.
If you are able to help, please send or drop off any donations to Dogs Trust Manchester, Parkway, Denton, M34 3SG.
