International Men’s Day – In the spotlight, Canine Carer Neil Gordon

I started working at Dogs Trust Manchester only a couple of months ago! I had just completed seven years at College and University where I had worked up to and achieved a BSC in Animal Behaviour Welfare. Prior to that I worked in a biscuit factory for six years. I got made redundant so this led me to start studying.

The thing I love most about this job is that I love being able to work with all the different dogs and seeing their different personalities. I love playing a part in them finding their new homes and their happy ever after.

My favourite dog here at the Centre has to be Buddy.

Buddy was one of the first dogs I met when I started to work at the Centre. I chose him to be my first ‘project dog’, which means I do a little additional work with him, developing activity plans to keep his brain busy and I have also taught him to settle.

Buddy has played a massive part in helping me settle in at Dogs Trust Manchester and has made me feel part of the team.
