Dogs Trust seeks new muggles for bewitching pooch
The team at Dogs Trust in Glasgow is currently on the lookout for a magical new home for one of their spellbinding residents named after the boy wizard himself, Harry Potter. With the upcoming release of the latest film in the internationally successful franchise, canine carers at the Rehoming Centre in Uddingston are hoping to show potential dog owners where they can find some ‘fantastic beasts’ of their own.
Eight-year-old Labrador Cross Potter arrived at Dogs Trust nearly a year ago with his enchanting name; in that time he has built up great relationships with his teachers at Dogs Trust’s ‘School of Canine Behaviour’. Whilst he is fully housetrained, Potter can get very excited at times and would need a family that are willing to keep him physically and mentally stimulated.
Sandra Lawton, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Glasgow, said:
“Potter is a firm favourite at the Glasgow Rehoming Centre as he is quite the charmer and, just like Harry Potter, he is looking for a place in the world to belong. He enjoys being around people and is full of energy, however can also be quite independent when he wants to be.
“His ideal home would be in a quieter setting, with a large secure garden. Potter likes his own space at times and could live with young people over the age of 16; although would prefer to be the only dog in the family home.”
Due to Potter’s excitability he would need to be kept on a lead when out for walks. Dogs Trust Behaviour team will be more than willing to offer potential owners additional support in helping Potter transition back into life as part of a family home.
