COVID-19 info: Our rehoming centres are not open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes which include social distancing measures to help keep staff and our visitors safe.

Hello January!

montage of rehomed dogs

January is always a tough month what with the cold weather and dark nights, and dogs that were unwanted Christmas presents find themselves handed over to us for rehoming. But Dogs Trust Basildon is still a very happy place with dogs being reserved by new owners and going off to start new lives all the time.

Friday 3rd January was particularly great as we saw the first three dogs of the year (and the decade!) go home! Ernie, the staffie cross puppy, Snowball, the boxer puppy, and Tilly, the lurcher, all went off to their forever families and are doing brilliantly in their new homes. We wish them the best of luck!

January also saw Bruno, one of our long term dogs who’d been with us for over 450 days, find his forever home too! Bruno is loving life in his new home, playing in streams and chasing his ball in the woods. He really has landed on his paws and is doing fabulously – good luck and well done Bruno!

If you’re thinking of adding a four-legged friend to your family, please consider rescuing and get in touch. Visit the dogs we currently have available for adoption, give us a call on 01268 535050 or drop in to the centre and say hello! You can find our opening hours here, everyone is welcome 😊 We hope to see you soon!
