Canine Carer - Dogs Trust Evesham

We’re looking a passionate and dynamic individual to join our team of Canine Carers to work in our busy rehoming centre. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with a positive, upbeat attitude who is committed to the aims and objectives of Dogs Trust. Your duties will include preparation of food, exercising, administering medicine and grooming the dogs as instructed. Keeping a high standard of cleanliness of all areas the dogs use is also an important part of the role. The successful candidate will also interact with the general public as they come into the Centre. A strong team player, you must have lots of energy, the ability to be flexible and show empathy to people and animals. A current, clean, manual driving licence with access to a car and a good level of fitness are essential. Canine Carers are required to work shifts between 8am-8pm.

Maintenance Operative/Groundsman - Dogs Trust Snetterton

This is an essential role in ensuring the smooth running of the Rehoming Centre, managing the day-to-day issues and breakdowns that occur in this busy centre. The role is practical, fast-paced and physical, working outdoors in all weathers. You will need a problem solving attitude along with the ability to design and build innovative solutions to challenges. You will be an excellent communicator and have empathy towards the dogs in the centre and a commitment to the aims of Dogs Trust. You will be required to be flexible with working days as cover is needed on occasional weekends for Open Day etc.

Contact Centre Agent - Manchester Contact Centre

The Contact Centre Agent is responsible for providing excellent customer service by efficiently receiving and handling inbound calls and emails for our network of 20 Rehoming Centres around the UK, dealing effectively with queries or transferring them to a centre if appropriate. Handling enquiries and complaints in a timely and efficient manner to agreed standards whilst undertaking administrative duties as necessary. The successful candidtae will need experience of working in a relevant environment, e.g. Contact Centre, Customer Services. With a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service. Also with the ability to work quickly and under pressure.

House Keeper - Dogs Trust Shrewsbury

You will be responsible for the cleaning of public and staff areas within our Shrewsbury Rehoming Centre. This will include cleaning floors, dusting and removing rubbish. Previous cleaning experience would be an advantage. This will involve working some Bank Holidays, so flexibility is essential.

Assistant Manager Operations - Dogs Trust Salisbury

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of Rehoming Centres. Reporting directly to the Rehoming Centre Manager, you will have the opportunity to build on existing experience in the day-to-day care of dogs, develop management skills, and make a valuable contribution to the work of the charity. Working within the management team with primary responsibility for kennel management, the supervision of kennel staff, and the welfare of dogs at the Centre, but also required to be familiar with the duties of other members of the management team in order to stand in for them during periods of absence. You will have previous experience in animal care and will possess huge amounts of energy, commitment, enthusiasm and must be committed to the aims and values of Dogs Trust. You will be required to work a 40 hour week, with some weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis. A full, clean, manual driving licence is essential.

The position will require the applicant to stay on site in accommodation 2-3 times per week.’

Training and Behaviour Advisor - Dogs Trust Merseyside

You must be able to competently and empathetically handle many different breeds of dog in a kennel environment, some of which may display unwanted behaviours. Working with the support of the management team you will develop dog training programmes, and implement them, using positive re-enforcement techniques. You will work alongside Canine Carers and supervise their training techniques, encouraging and improving their skill sets where applicable. To compliment this very hands-on role you will be an excellent communicator who can confidently provide advice to the new owners of our dogs should a problem develop once the dogs are adopted. You will be able to use a basic computer programme and keep reports updated in a timely fashion. The ideal candidate will be committed to the aims and value of Dogs Trust, be experienced in working with dogs in a kennel environment and hold a full, clean, manual UK driving licence. This is a full time, 40 hours per week on a rota basis that includes weekends and Bank Holidays.

Transfer Driver - Mobile

Responsible for transporting dogs around the UK and Ireland in a humane and caring manner. The dogs must be cared for and transported in accordance with the Welfare of Animals (Transport) Order 2006 and within Dogs Trust internal rules and protocols. The post will involve regular evening and weekend work on a flexible schedule. The successful candidate must be qualified in animal first aid and have a sound knowledge of dogs and dog behaviour with the capability of dealing with difficult dogs of an aggressive or nervous nature. Since the role will involve lifting dogs into kennels and handling of nervous (and sometime unwilling) dogs, including large breeds, a good level of strength and physical fitness is required. A full driving license and considerable driving experience is essential.

Veterinary Team Support Officer

Supporting our Veterinary Team and administering our Dogs Trust Shared Adoption Scheme (SAS), this is a busy, demanding and varied role requiring outstanding organisational and communication skills. Our SAS role involves handling enquires, maintaining the database and liaising with rehoming centres, adopters and veterinary practices, as well as continually promoting and raising awareness of the scheme. Supporting the Veterinary Team involves attending meetings, visiting Rehoming centres to deliver training, admin support and providing locum nursing support. As a Registered Veterinary Nurse with recent practical experience you will need strong IT skills including Word and Excel. Experience of delivering training and assessing would be an advantage. You must also be committed to the aims and objectives of Dogs Trust and animal welfare. This role requires some out of hours and weekend work so flexibility is essential as is a full, clean, manual driving licence.
