Assistant Charity Shop Manager - Shrewsbury

With over 20 stores already and new stores opening almost weekly, Dogs Trust is the most rapidly growing charity retailer in the UK. With a broad range of donated and bought in products, we are looking for dynamic and flexible managers who have the customer and the charity at the heart of everything they do. Now you can be part of our next chapter. Based in our Shrewsbury Store we're looking for a commercially minded Assistant Store Manager working 2 days a week to help to build and inspire a team of volunteers, take personal ownership for the performance of the store, maximise profits and deliver excellent customer service. In this varied and exciting role you will be instrumental in ensuring your store is a successful hub of the community, working closely with Rehoming Centres and representing the Dogs Trust brand.

WORKING DAYS: 2 days per week, including most Saturdays.

WORKING HOURS: 9am - 5pm

Fundraising Assistant

An opportunity to join a busy fundraising team responsible for raising over £35m a year for Dogs Trust. Specifically to assist the Fundraising Officer with the day to day running of the Sponsor a Dog (SAD) programme and additional recruitment activities. The successful candidate will be PC literate with good attention to detail, as well as an excellent telephone manner and experience of dealing with complaints and emotional callers.

Head of Rehoming

The Head of Rehoming is a new role reporting to the Operations Director and responsible for the continued excellent performance of our 20 rehoming centres. We strive to save as many stray and abandoned dogs as we can and this role will play a big part in making that happen in the future. You will develop plans and budgets and drive their delivery, working closely with the field-based and London teams. We are looking for an experienced senior manager with a strong track record of success. Your multi-site operational management experience will be combined with strong planning skills and the interpersonal ability to deliver through a disparate team. You will have the credibility and communication skills to work effectively at all levels internally, with external stakeholders and as a spokesperson. You must be highly numerate, with budgetary experience, the ability to analyse complex data and produce clear management information. A willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland is essential.

Senior Public Affairs Officer

The Senior Public Affairs Officer will assist in the implementation of Public Affairs strategy and programmes for Dogs Trust, raising awareness of the charity amongst key opinion formers. The postholder will have a certain degree of independency and accountability for their own project work, whilst working collaboratively with the Head of Public Affairs and wider Communications team. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of Westminster, Whitehall, and devolved administrations. 3 – 4 years’ experience within a public affairs agency or in-house department together with proven experience in public campaigning and policy research and development.
