View the roles, and meet the volunteers We have range of different volunteering opportunities across our nationwide network of charity shops and rehoming centres. Please note that not all of these roles are available at every location. London Office From time to time volunteering opportunities become available at the London office, to assist with general office or specific project related administration. Volunteer Administrator From time to time centres will require voluntary help with administration tasks such as writing letters, emails, filing, data entry and arranging appointments. Volunteer Café Assistant Café volunteers support our centre staff to ensure that all visitors receive a warm welcome to Dogs Trust and a pleasant experience during their visit. Harefield and Manchester only. Volunteer Canine Assistant These volunteers work directly with our rehoming centre staff to ensure that our animal accommodation and facilities are cleaned, maintained and excellent conditions for our dogs. As well as provide essential exercise, enrichment and care for the dogs. Volunteer Dog Foster Carer We are always looking for dog foster carers to help with our Home from Home Scheme and our Freedom Project. Foster caring involves temporarily looking after and caring for a dog in your own home. Volunteer Event Assistant We hold a number of events throughout the year at all our centres to help us raise funds and promote the work that we do. These include open days, seasonal events throughout the year as well as local community shows and fayres. Volunteer Home visitor This role plays an important part in checking the suitability of prospective new adopter’s homes and the environment for that particular dog. Volunteers must be able to drive and have access to a car. Volunteer Maintenance and Gardening Assistant Maintenance and Gardening volunteers assist our Maintenance Operatives with keeping the grounds of our centres well-presented and tidy for all visitors. Volunteer Photographer If you are creative, passionate about dogs and have animal photography experience then this may be the role for you. Volunteer Reception and Visitor Support This role involves working with our reception teams to ensure that all visitors to the centres are welcomed and their needs are attended to and that all administrative tasks are completed. Volunteer Retail Shop Assistant Our growing network of 25 charity shops is an important part of our fundraising income, with their purpose being to raise pounds for hounds to help support and care for dogs waiting for their new homes and to raise local awareness for the charity.
