How to Apply

Information for people in housing crisis

To apply for a Hope Project Veterinary Entitlement Card, you must be homeless or in housing crisis (sleeping rough, squatting, living in B&B/temporary council accommodation, supported accommodation, a hostel or on a traveller’s site). You must apply for a card through a registered participating homelessness organisation. Dogs Trust will then issue the card directly to the organisation.

If you are unable to apply through a participating homelessness organisation, you can apply directly to the Hope Project team. In this case you will be required to provide proof of your NFA (No Fixed Abode) status from a recognised homelessness organisation.

If you are in receipt of benefits and live in permanent accommodation, you are NOT eligible for an entitlement card.

Information for homelessness organisations

Homelessness organisations can apply for entitlement cards for their clients in two ways:

  • Online – this is the most efficient and cost effective way
  • By post – using a supplied entitlement card request form

In order to make online applications on behalf of your clients, you must first become a registered user of the Dogs Trust website and you must also register your homelessness organisation with the Hope Project.

To make paper applications, please contact the Hope Project team on 020 7837 0006.

Applications to join the Hope Project Veterinary Entitlement Card Scheme MUST come from recognised homelessness organisations ONLY. If you are not a recognised homelessness organisation, your application will be rejected.
