Christmas can be an especially lonely and difficult time for people who are homeless or in housing crisis. That’s why Dogs Trust Hope Project works to keep Christmas special for our clients and their dogs.
More and more homelessness organisations are opening specialist short-term projects, such as Crisis Open Christmas, to ensure that their clients are not forgotten during the festive season. Dogs Trust works with these projects to ensure they are able to accept clients with dogs and to provide them with all the advice, information, and doggie items they need.
This Christmas the Hope Project worked with temporary winter shelters and Christmas projects to provide food, treats, coats, toys and essential preventative healthcare to dogs belonging to homeless people across the UK.
"Thank you to everyone involved at the Hope Project for the generous donation of Xmas parcels of dog goodies...it was good to see a little extra Xmas cheer being spread!"
"Many, many thanks and a lot of woof woofs from HAP"
"Thank you so much - already clients are excited (and the dogs too!)"
Once again we worked with Crisis Open Christmas, by providing dog goodies for their clients with dogs and helping to set up their indoor dog kennels. The service was a great success and allowed the owners and their dogs to access vital services during the Christmas week.
