We believe neutering to be the most humane and effective method to address the stray dog problem. In the UK, we have been successfully reducing the numbers of stray and abandoned dogs taken in by councils through our subsidised neutering campaign since 1999. To date, over 140,000 dogs have been neutered under this programme and many local authorities are reporting that this initiative is having a positive effect on the stray dog problem.
This is why we are currently piloting a Subsidised Neutering Scheme in Co. Cork, with the view to rolling it out to the rest of Ireland.
