Louise Close - Education Officer for North East

Louise Close

My passion in life is animals and at present I am the proud owner of 2 rescue dogs, Libby and Skye. Both were from Dogs Trust Darlington and they get on extremely well with my four resident rescue cats!

I'm very excited to be given the opportunity to work for the largest dog welfare charity in the UK and to teach young people about the responsibility of dog ownership.

Cathy Clyde - Education Officer for Northern Ireland

Cathy Clyde

Previously, I taught Secondary level English and R.E for nearly two years, before which I worked as a qualified nurse. I have a love of dogs and have even rehomed three rescued dogs; Millie a Toy Poodle, and Bichons, Maisie and George, who I love to spend time training with. Especially, as George is often the surprise guest in schools with me!

Lynne Jones - Education Officer for Wales

Lynne Jones

I am a qualified Teacher with a PGCE in Primary Education from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC). Working for Dogs Trust gives me the opportunity to combine my passion for dogs with a career in Primary Education. My workshops are always fun, interactive and informative, and are supported by curriculum-based classroom resources, which help the children remember positive canine messages.

I am the proud owner of Bonnie, who is excellent with children and a great ambassador for rehoming a dog from Dogs Trust.

I am delighted to be combining working for the UK's largest dog welfare charity with educating children in South Wales about responsible dog ownership. Bilingual workshops are available on request.

My enthusiastic and positive workshops ensured that the children grasped the important safety themes and messages but had lots of fun in the process!

I'm delighted to be working with Dogs Trust as part of their exciting youth education programme especially working with schools to promote responsible dog ownership and helping children to understand the importance of dog welfare.

Natalie Dexter - Education Officer for West London

Natalie Dexter

It has been an amazing time at the Harefield centre, which has seen large numbers of dogs rehomed, since opening in March 06. I am very lucky to work in such a beautiful centre, which even has a restored education barn, this means school classes can come and visit the centre and have a workshop on site and get to really find out how a Rehoming centre is run.

I have two small black Patterdale Terriers called Belle and Ealy who are regulars to the schools. Ealy especially likes having his tummy tickled by all the children!
