A Sticky Dog is one that has been in our care for more than six months.
The term 'Sticky Dogs' was created by Dogs Trust staff several years ago to describe the dogs that just seemed to ‘stick’ in kennels.
Some of these dogs just do not like being in a kennel environment and so do not show themselves well but are fine outside as you will be able to see in our videos.
Others do have behavioural issues that can be successfully resolved away from the stressful environment of a Rehoming Centre, with effort and commitment on the part of the new owner.
Others are just not ‘pretty’ and are sticky purely because of their looks.
Because we believe that no healthy dog should ever be destroyed, and that every dog should have the chance to lead a happy life in a loving home, we look after our sticky dogs for as long as it takes to find that special home.
Are you the one to offer that home…?
