West Calder Centre

Welcome to Dogs Trust West Calder!

Please keep an eye out for event updates (you'll see them on the right of this page, under the address!). We run a series of fun days encouraging people to find the perfect pooch, and everyone is welcome.

Manager Susan Tonner and the team look after 37 kennels filled with dogs waiting for this forever homes. We're only closed one day a week (Tuesday), so there are plenty of opportunities to drop in; who knows, you might find the dog of your dreams!

Dog Of The Week: Bonny

Bonny is a gentle girl with a big heart! She is a loving girl who enjoys having a cuddle and relaxing in a cosy bed watching the world go by. She enjoys going for walks in the woods where she can explore all things new. She can be a little strong on the lead at times but generally walks well. Bonny enjoys the company with other dogs and loves to play.

Bonny arrived with us a stray dog from the pound, so we don't know much about her history. Bonny is at her happiest when around people so would like for new owners who are able to give her lots of TLC. She would prefer for someone to be around for most of the day initially to settle her into a new routine. Bonny is able to live with older kids and could share her home with a canine companion.

Bonny is a very loving girl who will make wonderful pet. She is very eager to please and her party trick is to 'sit' and give a paw - which she will happily do for a tasty treat!

Unusual Suspects

Below are videos for four of our 'unusual suspects', six wonderful collies who are all a little bit different from the usual - for example, some are very relaxed about being home alone, and others could spend time in a cosy outdoor kennel. You can read about them all in more detail on our blog, or give us a ring to find out more: 01506 873 459.

3 year old Collie Cassie loves her walks; she is a very outdoorsy dog.  She is happiest around water - she splashes in it, digs in it and fishes for stones  She would be great fun for someone who loves long walks in the country side.

Cassie is worried by strangers and dogs but is very obedient and keen to learn new behaviours.  She loves when we play with her but is also happy lazing around most of the day. She needs an adult only home and would prefer to be the only pet.

Distinguishing Feature: Cassie would be happy living outside in a cosy den and she's relaxed about being home alone.

Jovi is a clever lad who loves learning new tricks. He is very affectionate with people that he knows. We have found him to be a sensitive little soul who is looking for some guidance and his confidence being built up.
