Dog of the Week: Ruby
Ruby is a 5 year old female Crossbreed. She came to us as a stray so we have no background information on her, but we know for sure that she is a very loving girl with the staff.
She is friendly with strangers, but she is worried by over handling and we think this is because she had a broken leg before coming to us, which had been left to set itself. This must have been painful for her, but Dogs Trust has paid for her to have surgery and we are monitoring her healing process.
We are looking for an adult only home for her and we know Ruby likes other dogs, but because of her leg operation we haven’t mixed her with a kennel mate so that she can heal quietly. We are unsure what she is like with small furries.
Ruby likes to go for a drive in the car, she quite enjoys it, so she will travel well. She also doesn’t mind traffic and walks nicely on the lead.
She is unhappy being left because she loves people so much and enjoys being a part of what you are doing, but this can be built up slowly.
She LOVES her food, bones and tasty treats and not forgetting her toys, she loves to play with toys.
If you are interested in finding out more about Ruby or you would like to meet her please do visit the centre (we are open from 12:00 - 16:00, only closing on a Tuesday), or call us on 01273 452 576.
Here at Shoreham, like all Dogs Trust Rehoming Centres - we do have some dogs who are more challenging to find a home for.
Some are just over looked, and some need a more specific home environment. You can find out about some of these special canines here!
We have two lovely Sponsor Dogs, Maddie and Sidney, if you're not quite ready for a dog of your own but want to help. We're delighted for former sponsor dog Phil, who now has a forever home!
Do you ever wonder who would care for your dog should something happen to you?
Our Supporter Relations Officer, Naomi Tucker, can let you know about our free Canine Care Card Scheme, to make sure your four-legged friend’s future is safe.
She can also help with information about leaving a gift in your will or donating in memory of a loved one.
Naomi is here to spread the word about the work we do at Dogs Trust. She is very happy to come out and talk to groups or can arrangethe newly refurbished rehoming centre.
She also runs some local fundraising events for Dogs Trust Shoreham.
Contact Naomi on 01273 466971 or email Naomi.Tucker@dogstrust.org.uk
