Shrewsbury Rehoming Centre
Dogs Trust Roden was established 40 years ago, and is one of the oldest of the Dogs Trust rehoming centres. Although it’s had the odd facelift or two over the years, it’s now at the stage where a major rebuild is necessary, and thanks to the generosity of people like you, the diggers have moved in and the build is under way! Meet Stanley
Stanley has been overseeing the rebuild at the centre and completion is now only a few weeks away. The time has now come for him to hang up his hard hat and look for a loving home of his own.
Ideally Stanley would like an active family who enjoy the great outdoors. He would need to be the only pet in the home, that way he gets all the attention. He loves to be with you and will make you laugh every day. He could live with young children, so long as they don't mind being knocked over from time to time! All the staff at the RC have a soft spot for Stanley and we just can't believe that he is still looking for a loving home. He is a big dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. The Rebuild
The new Dogs Trust Roden will include:
- Super-insulation with walls designed to retain heat in winter and keep the interior cool in summer – that means our dogs will be the perfect temperature whatever the weather.
- Triple glazing and high standards of air tightness around the doors to stop draughts
- Grass roof
- Rainwater harvesting and recycling – they will provide all the water needed to keep the kennels sparkling clean.
- Photovoltaic panels – these are a bit like solar panels and turn the heat of the sun into electricity
- A boiler fuelled by wood pellets
