Dogs Trust Roden was established 40 years ago, and is one of the oldest of the Dogs Trust rehoming centres. Although it’s had the odd facelift or two over the years, it’s now at the stage where a major rebuild is necessary, and thanks to the generosity of people like you, the diggers have moved in and the build is under way! Find out more about our rebuild. During this time we will still be open.

The new Dogs Trust Roden will include:

• Super-insulation with walls designed to retain heat in winter and keep the interior cool in summer – that means our dogs will be the perfect temperature whatever the weather.
• Triple glazing and high standards of air tightness around the doors to stop draughts
• Grass roof
• Rainwater harvesting and recycling – they will provide all the water needed to keep the kennels sparkling clean.
• Photovoltaic panels – these are a bit like solar panels and turn the heat of the sun into electricity
• A boiler fuelled by wood pellets 

During the build Oakfield will be closed as  new house for the residents is built and all the dogs will be living with their carers. Why not help the Roden rebuild by becoming a Friend of Roden see below.

You can support this centre by being a friend. For a donation of £10 by direct debit each month, earmarked specifically for the Roden centre, you'll help them to look after the dogs in their care. The rehoming centre is the focus of all our activities - it's where the dogs who come into our care receive shelter, love, food, training, and above all, the hope for a new start with a loving family.
You'll receive a certificate to mark your friendship, and quarterly emails giving you news about the centre. And of course you'll be helping to save lots of little lives!
