Fabulous facts about Dogs Trust Newbury
We have 39 kennels, which means there are lots of dogs waiting for someone like YOU to take them home! If you have any rehoming queries or want to know more about a particular dog, please call the centre on 01488 658391.
We're open every day except Wednesdays, including weekends, so there's always a chance to come and see us.
Our Sponsor Dogs are Roxy Rocket and Brady. Sponsoring Roxy or Brady means you'll get three updates a year on their progress and other goodies too - find out more.
A huge thank you to all the supporters, stall holders, staff and volunteers. We raised an amazing £6000 and it was a really great turn out of lovely, well behaved dogs for the fun dog show - best in show going to Moomoo the lovely female blue greyhound owned by Mrs Nichols.
Dog of the week - Sheba
Meet Sheba – a gorgeous four-year-old German Shepherd who is on the lookout for a loving new home.
Sheba was found as a stray – she was tied up outside a Council pound with no information so her carers have spent lots of time settling her in and getting to know her personality.
Jenny Hopkins, Dogs Trust Newbury Rehoming Centre assistant manager, says:
“Despite her unlucky start, Sheba is a friendly, loving girl who is eager to please. She can be a little timid until she gets to know you and like a gentle fuss. For this reason she would suit an adult only home with experienced dog owners who will be patient with her and allow her the time she needs to settle into a new routine.”
“Sheba loves her walks and toys and would be suited to living in a rural environment. She has mixed well with a lot of the other dogs at the centre, but would prefer to be the only pet in the home and to be cared for by dedicated owners.”
If you think you could give Sheba a happy home, please get in touch with Dogs Trust Newbury on 01488 658 391 or pop into the rehoming centre at Plumb’s Farm, Hamstead Marshall, Newbury, Berks RG20 0HR.
