Merseyside Centre

Based in Huyton, Dogs Trust Merseyside has a dedicated team that help hundreds of dogs find much-needed homes every year. We're really grateful for our fantastic supporters who help us keep caring for these dogs.

If you have any rehoming queries or want to know more about a particular dog, please call the centre on 0151 480 0660.

We never put a healthy dog down, so Sponsor Dogs Lexi and Kara help us make sure we're there for every dog for as long as they need us.

In The Spotlight:

Charlie...

Is a lovely chap once he gets to know you and has learnt to trust you. He can be a little shy at first but loves chasing after toys and splashing in muddy puddles! He is a clever boy and will lie down (very quickly!) for a treat.

Ideally he would love a new home which is fairly quiet living with adults and no other dogs. He has previously lived with cats so may be able to be live with them again. Charlie is still full of energy despite being 9 years old, so would love someone to look past his age and see how much fun he could bring into their lives. He is fully house trained and can be left up to 4 hours quite happily. Charlie’s new owner will need to be patient, and spend some time getting to know him before taking him home.

If you can give Charlie a loving home, please contact Dogs Trust Merseyside on 0151 480 0660 or drop into the centre at Whiston Lane  Liverpool L36 6HP

Valerie...

Is a daft girl who loves to play with her toys with you. When she is out and about she loves to pick up sticks and branches, and occasionally gets so excited, she tries the whole tree! She came to the centre on Valentines Day this year as a stray, and has so much love to give; she’s looking for the perfect partner.

Valerie doesn’t enjoy being in the company of other dogs, and will need an owner who is patient and willing to continue to work on this aspect of her training with her. She can live with children over the age of 10, but isn’t keen on cats, so wouldn’t want to live with them.

If you can be Valerie’s love of her life, please contact Dogs Trust Merseyside on 0151 480 0660 or drop into the centre at Whiston Lane  Liverpool L36 6HP

A few of our people you might want to contact:

Aimee Best can tell you all about our Open Days and fundraising events, or help you set up an event of your own to support the centre. Call her on 0151 482 6425 or e-mail. She will be happy to come and talk to your group about the work of Dogs Trust, and bring along a four legged friend to meet you.

Angela Madigan goes around schools in the area helping the dog owners of tomorrow understand all about responsible dog ownership. If you're interested in having her visit your school, send her an email or visit our Learn with Dogs website for more information and bags of teaching resources and games.

Clare Turner is our volunteer coordinator, so if you want to lend your time to us, she's the person to drop a line to.

And of course you're always welcome to drop in and see us; you might even meet your dog for life.
