Ilfracombe Centre

Information on Ilfracombe Centre

Representing the South West in lovely Devon, Dogs Trust Ilfracombe is a 45-kennel centre with a lot of lovely dogs seeking loving homes! If you have any queries about rehoming, or a particular dog, call 01271 812 709 or email the centre.

Here's beautiful Bonnie! Please contact the centre if you think he's the dog for you!

We're also keen to find a home for the lovely Alvin. He's got epilepsy, but Dogs Trust will help with the cost of medication to control his condition. He does have to be an only pet, but is a very playful lad.

Remember that dogs come and go quite quickly, so if the dog that fits your family isn't there know they might be tomorrow!

And a quick reminder:

If you have any queries about rehoming, or a particular dog, call 01271 812 709 or email the centre.

Special Success Stories

We're celebrating the rehoming of some of our longest serving residents.

George, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, a firm favourite with our staff had been returned to the centre back in May 2009.  He was the star of the recent BBC filming at the centre and has been out in his new home for a few
weeks now.

Megan, a very pretty GSD, has also gone out after spending the last 6 months at the centre.  Meg has been learning to overcome her anxieties around other dogs and her new owners are delighted with her and will continue to bring her on.  Who says you can’t teach an older dog new tricks!

Alfie, an attractive black and white Border Collie, was very nervous of people and hid at the back of his kennel.  Then two people came along who met him away from the centre to put him at ease and then gradually let Alfie grow to trust them.  They took their time and the rest is history.  Both his new owners and Alfie are delighted, especially Alfie as he has another lovely Collie to play with as well as his forever home!

We have also found a home for Merlin, a black GSD, who had spent time at both our Harefield and Ilfracombe Rehoming Centres.  Poor Merlin suffers from separation anxiety.  His new owners have a female black GSD whom he loves and will not be left alone!

As you can see it has been a very successful September for us here, and we hope to continue with your help and support.

Don’t forget ...rescue dogs love you more!
