Information on Ilfracombe Centre

Representing the South West in lovely Devon, Dogs Trust Ilfracombe is a 45-kennel centre with a lot of lovely dogs seeking loving homes! If you have any queries about rehoming, or a particular dog, call 01271 812 709 or email the centre.

Rebuilding the Centre

We're currently undergoing quite a big renovation, which might mean it's a little harder to get in touch. However, we are keeping to our usual opening hours and are very happy to receive visitors. We thank you for your patience with us while the centre gets a much-needed facelift!

Skydive to Raise Funds for Homeless Hounds!

One of our rehoming advisors, Sebastien, is bravely jumping out of a plane to raise money. Please help him reach his target on his JustGiving page or text FORT84 and your amount to 70070 (eg FORT84 £1).

You can also share this poster around to help encourage others!

Nico

This is Nico, our 3 year old black and tan cross breed who came to us from another organisation; it appears that he had a bit of a rough start in life and has had a few unsuccessful homes.  He has lived with cats and he is house trained.

Although Nico lived with teenagers we would prefer him to go to an adult only home as he has been unsure whilst meeting strangers.  With this in mind his new owners would need to visit him regularly to bond with him at the centre before adoption.  Nico’s regular socialiser who takes him offsite agrees that he has lots of energy and prefers quiet open spaces or rural walks as he finds built up areas and busy parks too much.

When Nico first joined us he didn’t seem to know how to interact with other dogs but he has been having some lessons with our trainer and has some regular friends, although our lovely lurcher Daisy is his particular favourite.

Nico’s ideal home would be in a rural area with a large garden to play in.

If you think you have the time and patience to offer Nico the forever home he deserves, then please give our Canine Carers a call on 01271 812709, or call in any day (except Wednesdays when we are closed for staff training) between 12noon and 4pm.

Harry

This is very handsome and very big brindle lurcher Harry, who is approximately 3 years old and came into Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre back in March.

Harry has been very good around people he has met at the centre although we were told he had previously been anxious around visitors in the home.  He is used to being left for short periods and is housetrained.  Harry also travels well in the car and loves his toys.

As he is a large lad Harry is looking for a spacious home where he can relax.  He would also prefer to be the only pet in the home so that he can have all the attention for himself and (due to his size) would ideally suit an adult only home.

If you think you have the time, space and patience to give Harry the forever home he deserves, then please give our Canine Carers a call on 01271 812709, or call in any day (except Wednesdays when we are closed for staff training) between 12noon and 4pm.

Scruffy

This is our handsome chap Scruffy, a 1 and ½ year old black retriever x collie who came into Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre back in February.

Scruffy is a young lad who is quite wary of strangers but is fine when you get to know him.  He goes offsite with our volunteer walkers who tell us that he is good in the car and is quick to learn.  He knows all his basic commands and loves to play ball.

Scruffy is happiest when playing with his kennel mates and would need to be rehomed with another young dog (he does love the ladies) who will keep up with him.  He is a bit of an escapologist too so a secure garden is a must!

As he is still quite young Scruffy would like to go to a new home with owners who will not leave him for too long and perhaps with teenagers or adults only.

If you think you have the time and patience to give Scruffy the forever home he deserves, then please give our Canine Carers a call at our Ilfracombe Rehoming Centre on 01271 812709, or call in any day (except Wednesdays when we are closed for staff training) between 12noon and 4pm.
