Our lovely centre has 66 glass fronted kennels that house hundreds of dogs every year on their journey to a new home. Like every Dogs Trust centre, we never put a healthy dog down, so we'll never stop trying to find a home for every dog, even the 'special dogs' who have been with us for six months or more. Of course we also have two lovely sponsor dogs, Jock and Cuillen, who always love to hear from new sponsors!
If you are on the lookout for a new pooch please come in and visit. For more information about rehoming a dog, donations, visiting the centre and volunteering, please contact our Rehoming Centre Team on 0141 773 5130 or email the Centre.
*If you are interested in rehoming from us and live in rented accommodation, please remember to bring written permission with you to the centre.*
As well as finding forever homes for our dogs, we also have an Education Officer, Alison Russell, who visits schools with her Collie Cross Alfie to deliver free class workshops for the dog owners of tomorrow. We believe that by encouraging children to think about responsible dog ownership we can begin to reduce the number of stray dogs and help dogs stay in loving homes for life. You can give Alison a ring on 0141 773 5142 or email her to talk about booking a workshop. Check out our exciting education website www.learnwithdogs.co.uk for fun online games, free resources for teachers and much more!
Dog of the Week: Halle
Halle is a 5 year old American Bulldog that came to Dogs Trust Glasgow due to her owners moving away. She can be a little shy when she first meets new people but is a very loveable big girl once she has come out of her shell.
She is a very clever girl who knows sit, down, paw, take a bow, cover your eyes and much more! She loves to learn new things and likes to be kept busy. Halle would suit an active household. She loves to run along the beach and enjoys a game of football in the garden.
Halle is looking for a home in a quiet area with children aged 12 years and over and would prefer to be the only dog in the home.
Emma-Louise Livingston is our Supporter Relations Officer. Emma helps our wonderful local fundraisers and also organizes local fundraising events, to raise much needed funds for the dogs in our care. Emma also assists with local media enquiries and attends group talks to spread the word about Dogs Trust far and wide! Emma runs the Dogs Trust Glasgow Twitter feed, where you can keep up to date with the comings and goings of the dogs and activities at our centre.
