Meet The Team
Centre Manager – Chris
Born in the UK but then spent his youth in South Africa (hence the funny accent) where he also qualified as a senior inspector for an animal welfare organisation. Chris came back to the UK in 1999, the same year he joined Dogs Trust Evesham as centre manager. Chris is responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the centre and keeping abreast of company policies and procedures. When not in work you can usually find Chris paddling up the Avon in his kayak.
Assistant Manager (Operations) – Tracey
Tracey joined Dogs Trust back in 1991 where she worked as a volunteer in a very small Dogs Trust Evesham. Many changes have been seen over the years from the opening of the bigger site to becoming a live-in member of staff. Tracey also married in 2005 and became a mum in 2008. The role of our Assistant Manager (Operations) is to oversee the welfare of the dogs and staff.
Assistant Manager (Administration) – Nick
Nick joined the Evesham team in January 2000 as a canine carer. He was then promoted to assistant manager (Admin) in 2003. Nick has done various jobs prior to joining Dogs Trust including working with disabled adults. Nicks main duties are to ensure the centre accounts and banking are always up to date as well as helping out with vet visits.
Supporter Relations Officer – Shauna.
Shauna came from a background of working with greyhounds. She joined Dogs Trust Evesham in 1996 as a canine carer. Shauna took up the role of SRO in 2000 where she is responsible for the centres fundraising and PR. Shauna also helps run Open Day and local fundraising events. Out of work Shauna is a mum of 2 that enjoys a hobby of auto-grassing in her mini!
Receptionist – Sue
Sue came to Dogs Trust Evesham to join the reception team in July 2001 from a background in retail. Our receptionists look after all initial calls and visitors to the centre. When she is not in work Sue enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.
Rehomer – Michelle
Michelle joined the team in 2005 as a canine carer. In 2007 Michelle was promoted to a rehomer and is now responsible for overseeing our dogs out to their new homes. Outside work Michelle enjoys rugby and keeping fit. She also loves spending time with her husband James.
Dog Trainer (Star Unit) - Claire B
Claire joined Dogs Trust in 2000. Claire came to us from school and has gained lots of experience and knowledge during her time here and is now helping us with some of our special dogs that need extra training and help at the centre.
Volunteer Co-Ordinator – Emma
Emma joined Dogs Trust in 2006 as a canine carer. She has an extensive background in retail and customer services. She has learnt many skills since joining us and in early 2011 officially became volunteer co-ordinator. In this role she manages our volunteers ensuring they have everything they need to complete their tasks, as well as working on kennels with the dogs. Out of work she loves looking after her own rescue dogs, both from Dogs Trust Evesham and writing poetry.
Canine Carer – Debbie
Joined in July 2009 as a part time member of staff and went full time in September. Since joining Dogs Trust she has completed many courses ranging from dog training to rehoming. She is currently undertaking her diploma in animal care level 2. In her spare time she is a keen horse rider, competing in dressage, showing and eventing with success to national level. She also has 2 rescue collies from Dogs Trust.
Training and Behaviour Advisor – Christina
Christina joined Dogs Trust as a training and behaviour advisor in July 2007. She previously worked for the RSPCA for 8 years. As a TBA she works with the dogs in the centre that need a little extra help, both at the centre and also in the home. She runs our Home From Home scheme where dogs have a temporary loving home while they find a more permanent residence.
Canine Carer - Claire S
Claire joined Dogs Trust in 2007. She thoroughly enjoys her role within the organisation. She has undertaken courses in behaviour and training, puppy rearing and micro-chipping. Claire has 5 dogs of her own. In her spare time she takes part in agility with her dogs and loves to take part in competitions with them. She has a passion for terriers.
