Experienced Dog Owner
At any one time Dogs Trust looks after more than 1,700 dogs of all shapes, sizes, ages and temperaments.
If you are an experienced dog owner who is familiar with the challenges that some dogs can pose, we may have the perfect dog for you!
We have many dogs in our centres that are just waiting for someone like you who has the experience, knowledge and ability to introduce them into a home environment and give them the second chance that they so desperately need and deserve.
Most of the dogs that come to Dogs Trust don’t stay with us for very long but there are exceptions. Some of the dogs in our rehoming centres have been in our care for over six months; we refer to these residents as ‘Special Dogs’.
Our Special Dogs may have remained in our rehoming centres due to a number of reasons, some do not like being in a kennel environment and so do not present themselves favourably but are fine outside. Others do have behavioural issues that can be successfully resolved away from the stressful environment of a rehoming centre, with effort and commitment on the part of the new owner. Sadly, some are simply regarded as just not ‘pretty’ and are not chosen because of their looks.
