Are you right for Luigi?

Are you a hero adopter? Are you able to visit Luigi in centre multiple times to start building a relationship with him through walks, training and play? Are you a quiet adult only home with a maximum of two people and minimal visitors? Luigi must have a secure private area, separate room away from you and visitors, no other pets. Luigi will need to wear a muzzle and be kept on lead on walks as he can be react aggressively towards strangers and dogs in close proximity. He will also need to be muzzled for the vets as he finds being handled by a stranger overwhelming. He can be possessive around food, toys and beds so will need adopters that have experience with resource guarding. Due to his shy nature Luigi will need you to respect his space when meeting him until you have gained his trust and will be happy to visit him until he is comfortable.

Is Luigi right for you?

Five-year-old Luigi has been in 3 different homes, he was handed over to us as a puppy and then returned to us twice for showing aggression. However in these homes he was also playful, settled well at night and enjoyed training and his walks. Luigi is housetrained, walks nicely on the lead and loves running around so access to a secure private area is a must and will give him a place to be off lead to do his zoomies and play with toys/tennis balls which are his favourite. Luigi travels well in the car, is happy jumping in and out and is able to be left for short periods. Although Luigi can be possessive with things he finds valuable he is able to play swap games. Due to this, he must be the only pet in his new home as he doesn't like to share. Luigi is very clever and will even bring his muzzle to you to put on for his walks. Luigis walks ideally need to be in a quiet area with space to move away from other people and dogs as he can bark when they get too close. Luigi takes a little while to gain confidence and become comfortable with new people so on his meets we will go for walks, play with toys and show you his training to help build your bond. We will also bring him to your home a few times and help you settle him in to the new environment and routine. Luigi does seek affection from known people but does become overwhelmed with too much handling so quick, calm affection works best for him. Once Luigi is comfortable you will be rewarded with an active, playful, entertaining boy you can go on adventures with and teach all kinds of new tricks if you are into training!
