Dogs Trust Darlington’s appeal for an old timer’s new home
Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre in Sadberge, near Darlington, is desperately searching for a loving home for one of their extra special four-legged residents.
Sam is a lovely old man who found himself in Dogs Trust’s care after his owner died and the rest of the family couldn’t give him the attention that he deserved.
The 10 year old Collie Cross has epilepsy which is controlled by medication as well as a cruciate ligament injury, so he’s under doctor’s orders of strict rest.
Dogs Trust will pay for all epilepsy treatment costs for the rest of his life and for any treatment regarding his leg injury until it is resolved.
Graeme Blackburn, Assistant Manager at the centre, says,
“Sam is a lovely gent who enjoys the good things in life! Being an older dog, he enjoys having his own space, but he has lots of love to give to an understanding owner.
Due to his leg injury, Sam is best suited to a caring owner who will understand the importance of strict rest in the next few months, if his leg is to heal correctly.”
Sam would be best suited to an adult-only home with owners who have had dogs before and have plenty of time to ensure Sam receives the care and love he deserves. He gets on well with most dogs but would prefer to be the only dog in his next home.
Dogs Trust are urging anyone who can offer Sam or any of his canine chums a home to call the Rehoming Centre on 01325 333114.
