Lovely Mutt Seeks Lovely Mum

Jenna the Collie dreams of a loving home for her final days.

This Mothering Sunday, spare a thought for Jenna, a lively ten year old Collie Cross currently being looked after by Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity. Unfortunately, Jenna has been diagnosed with cancer and is looking for a conscientious owner who will look after her for her remaining time.

Jenna the Collie

Jenna would make a lovely canine companion. Unlike some ten year olds she is well-mannered and affectionate, not to mention fully house trained and excellent around other dogs and children. Despite her illness, Jenna is comfortable and is still a happy-go-lucky hound. A dream doggy afternoon would be to chase tennis balls around the garden before curling up in front of the fire for a snooze.

Alison Rodger, Dogs Trust Salisbury Rehoming Centre comments:

"We were sad to hear Jenna's diagnosis but we're glad to know she's quite happy in herself. She will of course be happiest in a loving home, so we're hoping to find that special someone who can give her the love and care she needs."

Jenna’s new owners will not have to worry about paying vet’s bills as she qualifies for the Foster Scheme, which is offered by Dogs Trust for certain dogs who are elderly or have on-going medical conditions. Under this scheme, Dogs Trust will offer to pay for all veterinary treatment, apart from routine vaccinations, worming or flea treatment, with the proviso that the adopter will be required to pay the first £7.50 of the bill for each visit to the veterinary surgeon. Dogs Trust hope that Jenna will find a kind new owner who will help her keep her tail wagging until the very end.

Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity with 17 Rehoming Centres across the UK. Dogs Trust cares for over 16,000 stray and abandoned dogs every year.
