Could you nurse Floss the Collie back to health?
Dogs Trust West Calder are appealing for a home for one of their most special four legged residents, one year old Border Collie, Floss. Floss has a heart deformity called Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) where one of the vessels connecting the two major arteries emerging from the heart fails to close at birth. It is like a hole in the heart. Left untreated, Floss would become very unwell. Luckily, Floss is in the care of Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and will be receiving the surgery that she needs within the next few weeks.
Collies are incredibly intelligent dogs who like to be kept busy so Floss is hoping for a new owner who is not only caring enough to nurse her back to health after her surgery, but will also be able to provide enough physical and mental stimulation to keep this dynamic dog happy. Centre Manager Susan Tonner comments:
“Floss is a farm bred border collie who has bags of energy. The lucky family who give a home to Floss should be aware that she may be ‘broken hearted’ now, but once she is recovered, these lively lass will be on top form again.
If you think you can give a loving home to Floss, or another rescue dog, then get in touch with Dogs Trust West Calder on 01506 873 459.
