DAISY AND FONZY ARE HOPING FOR HAPPY DAYS AGAIN.

Dogs Trust Newbury appeals for a home for Mum Daisy and Son Fonzy.

Staff at Dogs Trust Newbury are desperate to make Daisy and Fonzy’s Mothers Day wish come true by finding them a loving new home. Daisy, an English Springer Spaniel aged nine and Fonzy, a Spaniel cross aged eight have always lived together and were doted on by their previous owner who sadly died.

As well as needing a home together, this cuddly pair require a new regime to help them shed some extra pounds – something we humans can sympathise with! Fonzy in particular is a little too keen on his creature comforts and is very overweight.

Chris Laurence Dogs Trust Veterinary Director remarks:

“It is important to ensure pets are a healthy weight as obesity can cause a variety of medical problems. However if Daisy and Fonzy’s new owner gives them a specific low calorie food, keeps treats to a minimum and gradually increases their exercise levels, trimming down shouldn’t be a problem”.

The twosome, who share a kennel at the Rehoming Centre in Hamstead Marshall are in need of an patient adult home where they will be loved and given the necessary special attention.

Dogs Trust Newbury Rehoming Centre Manager Maureen Iggleden comments:

“Daisy and Fonzy are gorgeous little dogs with great personalities. We hope that we can find a wonderful home for them this Mothers Day. They would make fantastic family pets and all they want is to stay together”.

Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and cared for 16,000 dogs last year through its network of 17 Rehoming Centres. Dogs Trust has a non-destruction policy so Daisy and Fonzy will be cared for by the charity until the right home is found.

If you are interested in rehoming Daisy and Fonzy or any of our other residents at Dogs Trust Newbury call the Rehoming Centre directly on 01488 658391.
