Dogs Trust West London Appeals for Volunteers for it’s Summer Open Day
Following on from the huge success of the Christmas fayre, staff at Dogs Trust West London Rehoming Centre are busy planning an even bigger event for the summer on Sunday 24th June, from 11am – 4pm, and are urgently looking for helpful volunteers for the day.
The day looks set to be fun packed for all the family, whether they have two legs or four! A wide variety of stalls are planned to suit all tastes, including: an all day fun dog show with celebrity judge Clive Anderson, children's activity corner with special guest CBeebies presenter Sarah Jane Honeywell, a doggy deli selling doggy cookies and cakes; craft stalls; swing jazz band, pet a farmyard animal, vintage transport display, funfair rides, a raffle and tombola, with many prizes generously donated by Dogs Trust supporters, is also likely to be a popular attraction, as well as an array of refreshments and much more!
The centre is looking for volunteers who are able to commit themselves for the day and help out on a number of the stalls.
Sasha Johnston, Supporter Relations Co-ordinator for the West London Rehoming Centre comments:
“After the success of our Christmas fayre, we are working hard to ensure our summer event is even better!
However, we will struggle to achieve this without the help of our volunteers and supporters, so we are really hoping that a number of people will want to come along and join in the fun, to help raise money for the stray and abandoned dogs at our centre.”
All money raised from the fayre will go towards helping Dogs Trust continue their vital work, caring for hundreds of stray and abandoned dogs that come into the charity’s Rehoming Centre at Harefield, near Uxbridge.
Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and has 17 Rehoming Centres throughout the UK. The charity cares for over 15,000 dogs annually. The fayre will be taking place at Dogs Trust West London Rehoming Centre, Harvil Road, Harefield, Uxbridge. For further information please contact Sasha Johnston on 01895 453950.
