Dogs Trust stars of The Underdog Show on BBC2 find loving homes of their own
Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, is thrilled that all 8 dogs who took part in The Underdog Show, delighting both children and adults alike, now have fantastic homes. These show-stopping dogs won the hearts and minds of the nation with their clever and entertaining antics as well as showing that rescue dogs can make wonderful and loyal pets.
The chosen dogs and personalities, Ginger and Anton du Beke (Strictly Come Dancing), Albert and Clive Anderson (Comedian/Presenter), Casper and Huey Morgan (Fun Lovin’ Criminals front man), Cookie and Julia Sawalha (Actress), Bruno and Kirsty Gallacher (Presenter), Robson and Mishal Husain (BBC News Presenter), Chump and Selina Scott (Broadcast Journalist) and last but not least, Claudia and Theo Paphitis (Dragons’ Den) set about mastering a series of highly charged obedience and agility tests, with the added burden of a weekly elimination thrown in to up the ante. The wonderful Chump and Selina Scott were victorious on the final night and took home the coveted trophy but now that each dog has been happily rehomed we feel that all the dogs and their rescue chums all over the country were winners from this experience.
Clarissa Baldwin, CEO, Dogs Trust comments:
“We are thrilled that Chump and Selina Scott were victorious. Selina handled Chump with care and patience throughout the whole series of The Underdog show and set a great example to potential dog owners- it was a well deserved win. Each and every Dogs Trust dog emerged as a winner throughout the series as the public could see just how great rescue dogs can be”
