Norfolk Rehoming Centre ‘best practice’ example to overseas visitors
Delegates led by David Barnes, a leading animal welfare expert with over 35 years experience, will be visiting Dogs Trust Snetterton Rehoming Centre on 18 July.
Those accompanying David include Patrick Villardy, the President of the Society for the Defence of Animals (Société de Défense des Animaux or SDA), Anne-Marie David, Director of the Alliance for the Respect and the Protection of Animals (Alliance pour le Respect et la Protection des Animaux or ARPA), and Tatiana Coinon, also of ARPA who is responsible for their neutering work, and Amelia Tarzi, a leading animal welfare expert who has years of experience in France, America and more recently in Afghanistan.
David Barnes comments:
“I have been familiar with the work of Dogs Trust for many years and after visiting two of their Rehoming Centres in London and Snetterton I felt that it would be a wonderful opportunity to show these international visitors exactly what the UK does best in animal welfare.”
Diane McLelland-Taylor, Dogs Trust Snetterton Rehoming Centre Manager adds:
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming these international welfare experts to our Centre. As the largest dog welfare charity in the UK we hope that they can learn about the way we work but also that we can take some inspiration from the way they do things overseas. It’s a great opportunity for us all to share our knowledge and all gain from the experience.”
Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity. Through its network of 17 Rehoming Centres across the UK, the charity cares for over 15,000 stray and abandoned dogs each year. The Snetterton Rehoming Centre alone cares for 70 rescue dogs at any one time and last year rehomed over 580 dogs.
