Injured dog now looking for love
Meet Brucie, a Brindle coloured, four year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier crossbreed, who is very much in need of a new loving home.
Brucie came to Dogs Trust recently from the nearby Avondale Vet Group in Strathaven. He was in urgent need of veterinary treatment when he arrived at the vets with a badly injured right leg, possibly the result of being tethered.
Fortunately after coming to the vets and receiving treatment he was transferred to Dogs Trust Glasgow Rehoming Centre where he has been resting and recuperating and the staff are now hoping they can find a good and stable home for him.
Sally A Yuill, of the Avondale Vet Group in Strathaven, comments:
“Brucie was in a real state when he came to us with a severe leg injury and he was in a lot of pain. Fortunately after his surgery, that we performed free of charge, he has been making really good progress, and we have now transferred him to Dogs Trust where they can help him find a new home. He has touched our hearts as he is such a pleasant dog.”
Sandra Downie, Dogs Trust Glasgow Rehoming Centre Manager, said:
“Brucie is a lovely playful and friendly dog. He’s won over several members of the staff here with his eager cuddles; he is an excitable dog who will need lots of exercise. We hope we can find him a new home soon, ideally with children over the age of 14 and where he is the only pet – so he can enjoy being the centre of attention.”
To help raise money and awareness of the charity’s work, Dogs Trust Glasgow is holding a Spring Fayre on Sunday 25 March, at the Rehoming Centre (315 Hamilton Road, Uddingston, Glasgow, G71 7SL) between 12noon and 3.30pm. Entrance fee is a donation of a dog treat or toy and there will be plenty for people, and dogs, to see and do. Donations are also greatly appreciated for the raffle/auction1.
Dogs Trust Glasgow cares for around 90 stray or abandoned dogs at any one time; dogs just like Brucie. Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, caring for over 15,000 stray or abandoned dogs every year through its network of 17 Rehoming Centres across the UK, including two in Scotland – Dogs Trust Glasgow and Dogs Trust West Calder. Anyone who is interested in rehoming Brucie should call the Centre in Glasgow directly on 0141 773 5130.
