REHOMING CENTRE AT MAX-IMUM CAPACITY
25 January 2012
Dogs Trust Glasgow has kennels full to the max with dogs called Max!
It may well be the most popular name for male dogs in the UK, but Dogs Trust Glasgow was very surprised when it noticed that no fewer than five of its current residents went by the name of Max!
Sandra Lawton, Dogs Trust Glasgow Rehoming Centre Manager, said:
“It’s not unusual to have two dogs at the centre with the same name, but five is unheard of in the five and a half years since the centre opened. There are only 14 Maxes in total currently at the 17 UK Dogs Trust rehoming centres!
“Max is a popular name for dogs as people like to give their pets human names as they consider them to be very much part of the family. We would really like to Max-imise coverage for these great dogs so we can find them lovely new homes as soon as possible.”
Over the weekend two of the five Maxes were booked and are hopefully going to new homes, but three more are still looking for their forever home.
Max – the Labrador (Male, Aged 5 years)
Max is a fab big bouncy boy. He is full of energy so needs a lot of exercise and he loves to be cuddled once he gets to know you.
He is very strong on the lead so his new family needs to be able to walk him.
Max needs a secure garden with someone who has experience of owning dogs and is willing to help him with his training.
Max can live with children who are 16 years old or over.
Max – the Border Collie (Male, Aged 6 years)
Max likes to do his own thing and to choose when he come over for cuddles.
He is hard of hearing so an understanding owner who won't surprise him will be needed.
He needs a home with Collie type experience, with a secure garden and no communal areas.
Maxy Boy – Smooth Collie (Male, Aged 1½ years)
Maxy Boy is full of energy and loves to be active. He especially likes to chase toys!
Maxy Boy needs an active home with someone who has previous experience of owning Collie types before.
He can live with children who are 14 years old or over. Maxy needs a secure garden.
