Pounds raised for Dogs Trust Canterbury hounds

Carole Westley from Canterbury, an avid supporter of Dogs Trust, has donated £900 to the dogs in the charity’s care after raising the funds by running the Milton Keynes Marathon – at 66 years old!
The running enthusiast put her best paw forward and completed the 26.27 mile marathon in an impressive four hours and 47 minutes.
Carole Westley comments:
“The wind and rain provided very unpleasant running conditions, but it was the thought of all the stray and abandoned dogs that kept me going. The money I raised will help buy them treats, food, blankets and toys – they are such deserving dogs and I was very happy to help!”
Dedicated dog lover Carole belongs to the Canterbury based running club, Jelly Legs, and the team were able to provide her with the necessary support and training to get her to her peak fitness level. Carole’s own dogs, from Dogs Trust Canterbury, were her motivation and reminded her why she was running for such a worthy cause.
Dogs Trust Canterbury gives two paws up to Carole for all her hard work!
Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity with 18 Rehoming Centres across the UK and one in Dublin. Dogs Trust cares for over 16,000 stray and abandoned dogs every year.
