ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS HOME STILL NEEDED FOR PATSY

08 March 2010

Dogs Trust West Calder is desperately looking for a home for a long serving resident, a Crossbreed called Patsy. The eight year old has been waiting for a home for nearly a year, and staff at the Livingston centre fear she is being overlooked because she is lacking in the fluffy looks department.

On average dogs at Dogs Trust spend 6 weeks at a rehoming centre before finding a new family, which means poor Patsy has spent over 8 times as long searching for her paw-fect home.

Susan Tonner, Dogs Trust West Calder Rehoming Centre Manager, explains:

“Patsy is a fabulous dog but a combination of her nerves and her colour (dark coloured dogs are often overlooked at rehoming centres) mean that she hasn’t yet caught the eye of a new owner.

She is a very sensitive wee dog who is scared of loud noises and the wind and needs a loving home where she can feel safe, but she’s an absolutely sweetheart and a favourite with the staff. She has the very best care here but it’s no substitute for a loving family home.”

Patsy is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped and Dogs Trust will pay her vet bills for the remainder of her life.

Her new owners will need to have the time and patience to work with this loving but under socialised girl to help bring her out of her shell. If you think you may be able to offer Patsy a new home please pop in or contact the West Calder centre on 01506 873 459 to find out more about her.
