Award-winning pet photographer Paul Walker will be ‘shooting’ Glasgow dogs on Wednesday 25th August to raise money for the canine welfare charity Dogs Trust.

Talented Paul, who has won the Scottish Master Pet Photographer of the Year award for the past three years, will be joined by Still Game TV star Jane McGarry on a quirky photoshoot to remember. From dawn (5.33am) until dusk (8.32pm) on 25th August he will cycle around Ayrshire and Glasgow, photographing all the dogs he encounters on his travels to raise money for Dogs Trust.

Paul explains why he set himself the unusual challenge:

“I work closely with Dogs Trust Glasgow and I’m really impressed with the tremendous work they do rehoming and rehabilitating hundreds of unwanted and abandoned dogs every year. I hope to raise lots of money to help them carry on their work.

I’ll be armed with my bike, my trusty camera, a bag of dog treats and chocolate biccies for myself. Jane McGarry and Dogs Trust staff will be joining me for some of the day, so keep an eye out for us!

I aim to snap as many dogs as possible and have no idea how many I’ll meet throughout this memorable day. But rest assured wherever you be hiding pooches, I shall find you!”

All the photographs from the day will be available to buy from Paul Walker’s website www.pawspetphotography.co.uk, with 100% of the proceeds donated to Dogs Trust. You can also sponsor Paul’s journey at www.justgiving.com/shoot-the-dog.
Sandra Downie, Dogs Trust Glasgow Rehoming Centre Manager, adds:

“Paul has taken some wonderful shots of our resident dogs in the past so the photos from this day are set to be beautiful. It’s a great idea and we’re incredibly grateful for any funds raised as a result of his and Jane’s efforts. Dogs Trust receives no government funding so we rely on fundraising and donations like these.”

Everyone who makes a donation has the opportunity to win a professional dog photography shoot and large framed print by simply guessing the total number of dogs that Paul photographs between 5.33am and 8.32pm. Whoever is the nearest to the final total will win the prize.
