Education & Community Officer - East Midlands - Dogs Trust Loughborough

  • 35 hours per week, Permanent
  • Our 22 full time, Dogs Trust Education & Community Officers educate children and young people on responsible dog ownership - targeting communities with particular bad social problems, through schools, youth groups, secure units and Young Offenders Institutes etc.  
    Workshops are curriculum linked and use the theme of dog ownership as a platform for developing self-esteem, confidence, responsibility, communication and teamwork skills.

Regional Press Officer - Dogs Trust Manchester

  • 35 hours per week, Permanent
  • Based at the new Dogs Trust Manchester Rehoming Centre in Denton, this role will work with the London based PR team to develop and deliver comprehensive communications plans to promote the rehoming centre and its dogs in line with Dogs Trusts vision, values and strategy. Reporting to the Director of Communications in London, and working closely day to day with the Manchester Rehoming Centre Manager and her team, the role will help to develop excellent relationships with local media, celebrities, opinion formers and other key stakeholders to create PR opportunities, increase public awareness and help promote rehoming. The postholder will work closely with the Supporter Relations Officer, CC2 Comms and Photography and other staff at the centre.

Contact Centre Agent - Dogs Trust Manchester

  • 40 hours per week, Permanent
  • The Contact Centre Agent is responsible for providing excellent customer service by efficiently receiving and handling inbound calls and emails for our network of 20 Rehoming Centres around the UK, dealing effectively with queries or transferring them to a centre if appropriate. Handling enquiries and complaints in a timely and efficient manner to agreed standards whilst undertaking administrative duties as necessary.

Head of Campaigns and Public Affairs - London Head Office

  • 35 hours per week, Permanent
  • The Head of Campaigns and Public Affairs will lead and co-ordinate the activities of the Campaigns & Public Affairs team to campaign on agreed issues and lobby for legislative change at a national and European level.  They will devise plans and timelines in support of the strategy, develop campaign products, surveys and reports, represent the charity personally and deploy the CEO and other senior staff as required to raise the profile of dog welfare and of Dogs Trust’s brand.  Working with the Director of Campaigns & External Affairs, the postholder will build coalitions and groups to lobby and deliver campaigns when the campaign requires it, to ensure campaigns activities are integrated with the work of other departments, to create cross-cutting teams relevant to each campaign and ensure good communication internally at all times.  The Head of Campaigns and Public Affairs will manage the presence of campaigns on the websites, online campaigners, using social media networks, build public profile in the media and deliver the political influencing strategy for the organisation.  They will evaluate the impact and outcomes from each campaign to ensure they have the desired effect, modifying as necessary.
