Safety out walking

• Keep your dog on the lead by roads, or where he may be tempted to give chase.

• Train a good recall command so that he will always come back when it isn’t safe.

• Be careful around livestock as he could get shot without warning by a farmer that believes your dog may be worrying his animals.

• Don’t let him eat rubbish or discarded food from the side of the road or on the park.

• Keep a look out for broken glass on the road or on the park.

• If your dog is likely to be aggressive to others, use a muzzle, keep him under close control or walk him where you won’t meet other dogs or people.
