Adolescent dogs

(6 to 18 months depending on breed)

Hormones can have quite an effect on your dog’s behaviour (especially if you have a male dog), in some cases turning your cute but cheeky puppy into a mad, raving, loony monster! This is an age when many young dogs are abandoned because they become ‘too much too handle’. But fear not; it doesn’t last forever, even though it can feel like that at the time. Firm but fair consistent training and a bit of understanding (not to mention neutering), can get you both through to the calmer adult times ahead.
