What is Give a Dog a Gift?

Give a Dog a Gift is an online shop that offers a wide range of fun and exciting presents you can buy to help Dogs Trust, our dogs and other dogs in need . When you buy a gift your donation will be put towards the item to help makes dogs lives better. By helping us pay for essential items you are freeing funds to enable us deal with emergencies and to help care for more dogs.

How does the gift list work?

The list works by allowing you to set up a list for your occasion as you would at any large retailer. You can celebrate any special day by registering a list of gifts that you would like your friends and family to buy for Dogs Trust on your behalf. They will be emailed instructions and a link to your list and they can select which of your gift choices they would like to buy. You can choose to send a list for a Wedding, Anniversary, In Memory, or any other occasion.  You can also opt to receive list statements to see how many of your chosen gifts have been purchased.

How do I purchase from a friends list?

You will have been sent an invite to your friends list, however if you do not have the email any longer please give us a call.
Once in the list choose the items you wish to purchase and then continue to pay for your goods. You will receive a receipt of your purchase.

Is the service just online or can you send me a catalogue?

Unfortunately we do not have a postal catalogue at the moment.  All of the Give a Dog a Gift items are only available to view online, though in some circumstances we can take telephone payments.

Will my money go towards the gift I choose?

Your donation will go towards the gift you choose. However, in the unlikely event we meet our targets on an item, your donation will be put towards the next nearest centre or relevant item.

Will my money go to the centre I choose?

Yes, however if one centre is proving more popular than others we will transfer the gift to where it is required if necessary. We have 17 Rehoming Centres across the country that all need your help.

What will I receive to acknowledge my gift?

When you purchase an item you will be sent a receipt via email as well as a printable certificate for you to keep. If you are buying the item for someone else you can pass on the email we send to you.

Can I get more than one certificate and/or letter?

For multiple purchases just one certificate will be issued with the total purchased on it. We may be able to offer replacements on request.

Can I find out more about Dogs Trust campaigns and project work?

More information on our work and how your donation helps make lives better for our dogs and thousands of others can be found here.

I don’t think that the gift I want to choose should cost so much.  Can I volunteer to come and feed a dog or look after the grounds keeping myself?

All costs are based on 2006 expenditure and are real amounts that we spend on these products and services. However, if you wish to buy dog food or any other items and donate them direct to your nearest centre, addresses can be found here

If I buy a gift, why does it have to go to the dogs at your centres?  Can I buy it for my dog at home?

Give a Dog A gift is a site to help raise funds for Dogs Trust by giving an alternative gift, if you wish to purchase items for your own dog we have our Shop or catalogue.

Why do some gifts disappear from the site shop?

Once we have reached our target on items we will remove them so money can be donated to the areas that need it most.

How will I know that my order has been received by you successfully?
