Volunteers carry out a wide variety of roles for Dogs Trust in our Rehoming Centres, our Charity Shops and at our fundraising events. They are a vital part of the Dogs Trust team.
We are committed to ensuring that we recruit the best volunteers for the tasks available and so we carry out a very thorough recruitment and selection process for appointing new volunteers, starting with an application form and interview with one of our team.
To find out more about volunteering at Dogs Trust you can download our leaflet and contact your nearest rehoming centre or charity shop.
Please be assured that whilst we receive a large volume of volunteering enquiries, our centre/shop based teams work hard to respond as soon as they are able to.
Please note that for insurance reasons, volunteers must be 16 or older, and centres might not accept volunteers under the age of 18. Unfortunately we are unable to offer work experience placements at Dogs Trust.
Other ways to help
If you're too far from a Centre, there are also other ways to lend your skills, such as personal fundraising. Every pound and penny counts towards helping us care for more dogs and keep our promise to never put down a healthy dog.
