Payroll Giving
Payroll Giving is not only a simple and efficient way to donate to Dogs Trust on a regular basis, it is also tax-free! Because your donations are taken before tax, it means every £1 you give only costs you 80p and the taxman pays the rest!
EMPLOYEES
It’s easy to set up a Payroll Giving donation. Your Human Resources department should have a form that you can complete but if not you can simply download our payroll giving form. Once you’ve filled in your details, please give a copy to your HR department and send a copy to Dogs Trust.
• On receipt of your form Dogs Trust will allocate you a supporter number and send you an acknowledgement.
• Your employer will deduct your donation from your gross salary (before tax)
• Your employer will then send your donation to a Payroll Giving Agency (PGA) that they are registered with.
• The PGA will send the donation through to Dogs Trust
Please note that the above process can take approximately three months from when you sign up for Dogs Trust to receive your first donation. Thereafter we receive your payroll giving donations on a monthly basis.
EMPLOYERS
For those companies that do not operate a Payroll Giving scheme it’s free to introduce and easy to administer.
• Your employer will need to register with a Payroll Giving Agency (PGA) approved by the Inland Revenue. These agencies handle payroll donations on behalf of employees and companies ensuring their donations go to their chosen charities. See the Inland Revenue website for a detailed listing.
• Once registered, any payroll giving forms received from your company employees need to be passed onto your PGA and they will do the rest. The PGA is responsible for adding the tax onto a donor's gift and transferring the total sum to the donor's nominated charity.
Giving on a regular basis is the best way to help Dogs Trust. Regular gifts enable us to plan for the future and ensure funds can be allocated where needed most. Last year Dogs Trust cared for almost 16,000 lost and abandoned dogs through its network of 17 Rehoming Centres. Please make a regular gift to Dogs Trust today and help us care for even more.
