Roden Wag Appeal
Thank you for reading Wag and for visiting our dedicated Roden rebuild pages.

 | DT has been rehoming dogs from the Roden site since 1970. A significant number of the current kennels are outdated line blocks (pictured left) that were built without the knowledge of animal behaviour and proven stress reduction design which now exist. The buildings are not operationally efficient; they are poorly insulated, draughty and are expensive to run.
The plan for the new build is that we will provide world class facilities for dogs without costing the earth.
Key objectives of the build: - To provide bespoke facilities to meet the specialist needs of the dogs in our care.
- To derive operational efficiencies though rationalisation and improvements to the rehoming facility.
- To reduce the stress presently experienced by dogs in the outdated and operationally redundant accommodation.
- To provide an improved visitor experience.
- To promote sustainable technology and materials in the design of the building..

The work started in April 2010 and is due for completion in May 2011. A phased approach has been taken to the project to ensure the centre can remain open to the public the whole time. |
