Dogs Trust understands that veterinary bills can be extremely high, which is why we remind potential dog owners that a dog can cost upwards of £8,000 over his lifetime. We also recommend pet insurance. However, there are times when some extra help is needed.
Neutering
If you claim benefits and live within one of our campaign areas, your dog might be entitled to free / subsidised neutering. You can find out more in our Campaigns section.
Homeless Dog Owners
Dog owners who do not have a permanent home can find out more about our Hope Project and Veterinary Care Entitlement Card scheme. Participating vets across the country supply card bearers with some free or subsidised care, including certain preventative treatments.
PDSA
The PDSA is a veterinary charity providing care for pets belonging to people in need. If the above schemes do not apply to you, please call 0800 731 2502 or visit www.pdsa.org.uk to see if you are eligible for their help.
