Health: Adolescents

Adolescent dogs

  • Regular tooth brushing and grooming should be well under way.
  • At around 6-9 months your dog will be entering puberty, which may affect behaviour. Dogs Trust strongly recommends getting your dog neutered at this point, as it stops unwanted puppies, can stop certain cancers and will help prevent your dog from straying. Dogs from Dogs Trust that are old enough will have been neutered.
