German Long haired pointer

This breed was reintroduced to Britain in the 1990s, having previously been were present in the 1890s. He is one of three German Pointers now recognised in Britain, the Shorthaired and Wirehaired having been here for much longer.

They differ not just in their coats but also in body proportions and size. He is the largest of the three. GLPs are a kind, gentle, friendly, and intelligent breed. The GLP is very affectionate and makes an excellent family pet, as it enjoys playing with children and is very sociable with dogs. However, they only make good pets when properly exercised, as they need a "job" to do, and do not adapt well to a sedentary life. They may also experience separation anxiety
