About us

We’re the dog charity. Helping dogs live happier, healthier lives since 1891, always there whenever they need us.

A better life for every dog

We’re the dog charity. For almost 150 years, we’ve been helping dogs lead happier, healthier lives. Our mission is simple: to be there for dogs when and where they need us most

Today, more dogs and owners need a helping hand (or paw) than ever before. That’s why we do all we can to support every dog, and every owner, through thick and thin, throughout their lives.

What we stand for

Everything we do starts with our vision: a better life for every dog.

We’re committed to being there for dogs and the people who love them through every stage of life — preventing problems before they grow, providing expert care when it’s needed most, and speaking up for dogs everywhere.

Our love of dogs means we want the very best for all of them. Because when they (and their people) are supported properly, the world’s a better place for everyone.

Our plan for the future

To truly tackle the problems dogs are facing today, we need an action plan: that's why we've created a new strategy. And we're aiming big - really big.

I was at my wits’ end when I called. Heather gave me loads of practical advice and sent over a load of things for me to do to help. I feel like a massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Thank you so much, Heather! You're a star.
